O2’s Child Protection campaign
Societal learning – this 2-day workshop for O2 employees was designed to bring them closer to the issue of child protection.
O2's Child Protection campaign is about ensuring that O2 employees and customers — both adult and young — are informed about the risks, as well as the tremendous opportunities, that using mobile phones and the internet pose to children. Working with charities NSPCC, Action For Children and Bullying UK, we devised a two day workshop to enable O2 employees, including their 'Children’s Champions', to immerse themselves in the issues of child protection and O2's policies and responses. The workshop was held in a children's centre in Manchester and included a discussion group with 9 to 12 year olds, conversations with teenagers in the local O2 shop and a real-life project to create a communications device about child protection for internal use at O2.
"Holding the workshop in a 'real world' setting and interacting with relevant charities and community members made for a genuine and highly valuable experience for our Child Protection Champions. Three Hands' project management was critical to the success of the workshop."
