Adam & Company and Breast Cancer Campaign
A major project to raise funds for the charity and develop skills amongst employees.
Adam & Company, part of RBS Group, was keen to show its commitment to a charity partner and at the same time to develop its people around its internal 'Performance Excellence Framework'. Breast Cancer Campaign funds research work in Scotland but had never held a high-profile fundraising ball north of the border. Fourteen Adam & Company employees from various parts of the business, all committed to their own career development and supported by a Three Hands learning & development facilitator, became the ball's Organising Committee. They worked together for six months to deliver the first ever Pink Tartan Ball at the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh, and they succeeded in hitting their target of £50,000 in funds raised for the charity.
"We were delighted to work in partnership with Breast Cancer Campaign on this unique project, which supported Adam & Company's HR and CSR strategies. The in-kind support provided staff from different areas of our business with valuable structured learning and development opportunities and, by increasing awareness of the charity as well as raising valuable funds for their research projects in Scotland, the project proved to be a win-win situation for all parties involved.
