Sky and West London YMCA

A partnership between the Property & Facilities Management team at Sky and neighbouring charity West London YMCA was designed for mutual benefit.

The Property & Facilities Management team at Sky identified that a partnership with a local community organisation could help them address various objectives, including working as one team across all of their areas of work, increasing their profile within and outside the business, giving people development opportunities, making a difference to others and having fun. Three Hands proposed and designed a partnership with local charity West London YMCA, whose aim to achieve the environmental accreditation BS8555 was a good fit with the Sky team's core skills and knowledge. The partnership started with a project to create a children's nature trail outside one of West London YMCA's main buildings and it will continue with workshops to engage the charity's staff and residents on the behaviour changes needed to improve environmental performance.

"It is fantastic that the partnership has already delivered tangible results for the young people with whom we work. We are very excited about the further impact this project could have in changing the attitudes of staff and young people towards their environment."

Tim Sweeting, Development & Partnership Manager, West London YMCA
