Team development at Danone
A sales team of 50 people took on a challenging but inspiring one-day project to help them face up to difficult market conditions.
The sales director of a large team at Danone wanted to prepare her team for the year ahead by introducing them to people in the community who faced real adversity, and overcome it, on a daily basis, to both inspire the team to improved performance and to make a meaningful contribution to a charity partner. Three Hands proposed a partnership with WheelPower, the national charity supporting wheelchair athletes. The team were given a full induction on the charity, which included a crash course in playing wheelchair basketball and meeting inspirational wheelchair athletes. We then set the team their challenge: to raise enough money to pay for 4 new sports wheelchairs and specialist training for newly disabled people at a cost of £3,000 each – by 6.00pm! After a marathon session on the phones, the team blasted through the target and ended up with over £18,000 of funds raised for WheelPower. Not bad for an afternoon's work!
"We were delighted that Three Hands approached us to work with Danone and we were appreciative of their help in designing and implementing the fundraising day. We were even more delighted at the outcome – the Danone team’s spectacular fundraising efforts will make a real difference to our work."
