Information for charity partners

Whether you are a small local charity, national charity, international NGO, school, social enterprise or other type of community organisation, we would love to hear from you if you think a team or group from business could help you to tackle your needs and objectives over a day, several intensive days, or a period of weeks or months.

In all of our work, we aim to emphasis business objectives — such as developing leaders — and social objectives — such as developing excluded young people — in equal measures. We are upfront about the business objectives from the beginning, but if we think that a prospective project is too heavily weighed towards the business objectives, and won't deliver enough benefit to the community partner, it won't happen. Our role is to ensure that the two sets of objectives are compatible and that we create a 'win win'.

Note that we don't broker employee volunteering. We do broker innovative partnerships that are based on clear business and social needs and that have the potential to turn into long term, sustainable relationships.

We have developed strong relationships with UK and international charities of all sizes and have built a large network of community organisations and NGOs, working in many different fields in the voluntary sector. But we'd always like to get to know more.

Our work in the UK is based upon various social needs and issues, such as regeneration, education, young people, health and disability. Where appropriate, we focus on the most deprived boroughs and areas. Abroad, we concentrate on developing countries, with an increasing expertise of India, where our community partners are working on the most pressing social issues.

Some of the partner organisations that benefited from Three Hands programmes in 2006 and 2007 include:

The Friary, Nottingham — funds and awareness raised for this homelessness centre through a sale and auction of hundreds of donated items

Mind in Croydon — a new horticultural project for the members of the mental health charity, part of the national Mind network
