Learning & development

We design and deliver experiential learning to develop skills, behaviours and awareness of social issues, all through real projects that connect employees with communities.

So while employees on graduate, management, talent, high potential and leadership development programmes are experiencing effective and memorable learning, they are also making a tangible difference to community organisations – in the UK and in developing countries. Developing people in this way is so effective because projects are real and the results matter to people in communities.

We design imaginative and innovative projects to enable participants to apply and develop skills and behaviours, and to address the particular strategic or operational needs of the community partner.

Activities range from outdoor physical projects and fundraising and awareness-raising on behalf of charities, to skills sharing activities and projects that support charities with strategic issues, all with plenty of interaction with charity staff and service-users built in.

But it’s not just skills and behaviours we develop through social projects. We promote understanding of the social issues (such as climate change, or the ageing population, or social deprivation) of most relevance to business through projects that immerse participants in those issues. Understanding and engaging in social issues – or ‘externalities’, or stakeholder issues – can be a critical part of companies’ sustainability agendas.

Our expert facilitators support participants with their learning objectives and help them to achieve the right balance between the project task and the learning before, during and after the project.
