Tailored initiatives

There are many ways to create value for businesses and communities through mutually beneficial initiatives. We help companies integrate community engagement and social investment with other business priorities, such as employee engagement and development, reward, sustainability and the promotion of values.

We address companies’ employee engagement objectives and other HR-related needs, and support their community engagement agendas, by devising and delivering tailored business community initiatives.

On the HR side, employee engagement, employee reward, graduate recruitment and promoting values have all been drivers for community-based initiatives. For example, the partnership we set up between Sky’s Property & Facilities Management team and a local charity was motivated by an objective to support people to work as one team across all their areas of work; our programme for Red Gate was a graduate recruitment and assessment activity, while our project for IBM’s Women’s Leadership Team was an initiative to engage women from diverse parts of the organisation in supporting the development of female talent.

Two of our recent highlights were the reward programme we ran for employees of Standard Chartered Bank, whose reward for high performance in local community engagement was a 5 day charity project in Delhi, India, that we project managed and a series of local community projects for Guardian News & Media (GNM), designed to promote and embed GNM values throughout the 300 members of the Ad Sales department.

On the CSR side, we have been supporting companies’ community engagement agendas by, for example, helping Sky to find new charity partners for employee volunteering and supporting Legal & General in setting up a business community initiative around the Central Saint Giles construction project, in which it is a major investor.

All of these are examples of solutions for business objectives – in many cases connected to core strategic issues – through engagement with community organisations and social issues.
